TidyBot
3D Platformer with environment based puzzles and PVE combat. The player uses the vacuum arm on T1-DY to pull in and push away trash to go through the level, defeat trash monsters, and clean the world!
Everbloom is overrun by trash monsters, and our last hope is the high-tech cleaning robot, T1-DY (aka Tidy). After the Smothering covered the planet with pollution, Tidy is activated to clean up the nasty trash monsters. Use your vacuum to navigate the trash-scape, defeat monsters, and restore beauty to your planet, one clean-up zone at a time!

This game was a prototype I made for my capstone class. Super Mario 3D World and Astrobot were the main inspirations for the level design. I love how both of those games teach the player the mechanics by shaping the level with the mechanics in mind, so I tried to replicate it in this prototype.
Some of the Thought Process
Since the players main mechanic is vaccuuming trash, I blocked their path at the beginning with trash so they understand how to use it. Next, I raised the ground by a block so the player has to jump. Then, I put more trash in the path, and raised the ground more, requiring the player to use a double jump in order to continue. This sets the player up with the skills they need to complete the rest of the level.
